Privacy Policy

Redline ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered contract scanner published by AK-Labz. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

The short version: text extraction (OCR) runs on your device. To analyze a contract, the extracted text is sent to a third-party AI provider — see Section 1 for details.

1. AI Analysis

When you analyze a contract, Redline performs the following steps:

  • Text extraction (on your device): photographs and PDFs are processed on your device using the platform's native OCR engines (Apple Vision on iOS, ML Kit on Android). The original images are never transmitted.
  • AI analysis (third-party provider): the extracted contract text, together with any context you choose to add (jurisdiction, your role, per-scan notes), is sent over HTTPS to our serverless proxy (operated by Cloudflare), which forwards it to a third-party AI provider for analysis. The provider returns a structured analysis (risk score, clause breakdown, summary) which we display to you.

AI providers we use: we route analysis requests to one or more of the following providers. We may switch between them at any time without notice based on quality, latency, or availability. All of them operate under enterprise API data usage policies that prohibit using API inputs for model training.

  • Anthropic (Claude) — privacy policy, commercial terms.
  • OpenAI — privacy policy, business terms.
  • Google (Gemini API) — privacy policy, Gemini API terms.

Tapping "Analyze" in the app sends your contract text to one of the providers listed above. We do not store your contract text on our servers.

2. No Account Required

Redline does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal information to use the app.

3. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the app. We do not collect data for advertising, tracking, or profiling.

3.1 Purchase History

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat collects:

  • Purchase and subscription status
  • An anonymous device identifier (RevenueCat's anonymous ID — not your Apple ID or Google account)

This data is used for subscription management (validating receipts, preventing fraud) and aggregated analytics (understanding which plans users choose). It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.

3.2 Crash and Performance Data

We use Sentry to collect:

  • Crash reports (stack traces, device model, OS version)
  • Performance metrics (app launch time, screen load times)
  • Interaction breadcrumbs (which screens were visited before a crash)

This data is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.

3.3 Contract Text

See Section 1 for a full description of how contract text is handled when you analyze a contract. In summary: extracted contract text is sent over HTTPS to a third-party AI provider for analysis. We do not store your contract text on our servers, and the provider does not retain it for training.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

  • Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
  • Location data
  • Photos or camera images (the original images stay on your device; only the extracted text is transmitted — see Section 1)
  • Browsing history
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID)
  • Analytics or behavioral tracking data
  • Any data sold to or shared with data brokers

5. Third-Party Services

Redline uses the following third-party services:

  • AI providers — Anthropic, OpenAI, and/or Google (Gemini), used for AI analysis of contract text. See Section 1 for details and links to their privacy policies.
  • Cloudflare — operates the serverless proxy that routes analysis requests to the AI provider. Privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management. Privacy policy.
  • Sentry — crash reporting and performance monitoring. Privacy policy.

All AI providers we use operate under enterprise API data usage policies that prohibit using API inputs for model training.

6. Data Retention

Your scan history is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. We have no access to it. If you delete the app, your scan history is deleted.

RevenueCat retains purchase records per their retention policy. Sentry retains crash data for 90 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Redline is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

Since we do not collect personal information and do not require accounts, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about data held by our third-party providers, you may contact them directly or reach out to us for assistance.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
